Abstract

This study aims to determine the thinking of humanistic education Paulo Freire and Ki Hadjar Dewantara and possible relevance in Islamic education through developed values. This research is a descriptive-analytical literature research, using the method of documentation, and analyzed critically-comparatively. This method is used to find out the thoughts of Paulo Freire and Ki Hadjar Dewantara's humanistic education, the differences and similarities of both, and how far humanistic education has relevance to Islamic education. The results of this study indicate, there are some similarities and differences between the thinking of humanistic education Paulo Freire and Ki Hadjar Dewantara. Some of the values ??that have been the pressure points of the thoughts of Paulo Freire and Ki Hadjar Dewantara that can be linked to Islamic education are: First, human values. Second, the value of equality or equality. Third, all three want students to actively participate or take part in the course of the teaching and learning process.
