Abstract

Teachers are a professional profession where they are required to make
every effort to carry out their activities as well as possible. The teacher's job as
educators, teachers and trainers should have an impact on their students. The
teacher, as one of the components in teaching and learning activities (KBM),
has a position that will determine the success of learning. The role of the
principal is very important and dominant in improving teacher performance,
both in increasing competence and work motivation as well as in building an
effective work system and creating a harmonious, safe and pleasant work
atmosphere. Efforts to improve teacher quality must continue to be made by
school principals in order to improve teacher performance to become reliable
individuals who will advance school organizations. Therefore, it is necessary
to have the leadership role and motivation of the principal to explore,
disseminate, foster and develop the potential of teachers in order to improve
teacher performance in order to achieve educational goals.
